DECISION
The applicant was a member of a group of people in the district in which he resided which group was established to defend the residents thereof.
He armed himself as a result of an instruction, with an unlicensed firearm. he did so to defend his organisation, the ANC and its members against physical attack by the Inkatha Freedom Party members also of the area.
He is therefore
GRANTED: amnesty in terms of Act 34 of 1995 as amended for being in unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition on the 7th December 1992 for which he was convicted in terms of Section 32(i) of Act 75 of 1969.
