DECISION
The applicant a member of Umkhonto we Sizwe, left the Republic of South Africa on the 14th of April 1995 with a view to undergoing military training.
The Committee, after considering the application, is satisfied that the application complies with the requirements of Act 34 of 1995; that the offences to which the application relates are acts associated with a political objective committed in the course of the conflicts of the past; that the relevant facts relating to the particular offences have been disclosed; and that the offences do not constitute a gross violation of human rights.

Accordingly the applicant is GRANTED Amnesty for the following offences :
a) For having left the Republic of South Africa in April 1965 for the purpose of proceeding to another country without such departure being in possession of a valid passport or a permit referred to in Section 2(a) of the Departure from the Union Regulation Act, 1955 (Act No. 34 of 1955); or
b) for having left the Republic of South Africa without authority in April 1965 at a place other than a port referred to in Section 2(b) of the said departure from the Union Regulation Act, 1955.
c) For having undergone military training in contravention of the provisions of the Terrorism Act 1967 (Act No. 83 of 1967) in or about April 1965.
