Special Report Transcript Episode 8, Section 4, Time 13:23We are getting tremendous pressure from our own people who say reconciliation is only coming from one angle, from those who had to face the brunt of apartheid. // There are some white people who see this as, the Truth Commission as, addressing the needs of black people in this country, without a doubt. And that’s something we have to confront and face and try to turn around. I think that one of the other reasons is that white people simply can’t cope with hearing about the pain, and the torture, the suffering. They’re feeling depressed and kind of have the attitude of I actually can’t hear another of these stories, it’s too painful, it’s too depressing, I actually just want to pretend it’s not happening.
