She had her house burnt down by IFP supporters during political conflict in Bhambayi, near KwaMashu, Durban, on 15 March 1993. At least eighteen people were killed in political violence in Bhambayi in March 1993. Seventy five homes were burnt down. See ‘Red’ and ‘Green’ factions.
