Was shot dead by an IFP supporter while sleeping in his home in Gamalakhe, KwaZulu, near Port Shepstone, Natal, on 10 November 1993. Mr Gcaba’s father-in-law and brother-in-law were also killed in the attack, which was part of ongoing political conflict.
