Four other people were also shot dead in the attack. The Goldstone Commission later implicated a police informer in a disinformation campaign against the Phola Park Residents Committee which Mr Mhlambi headed. | References | MHLAMBI, Samson Lucky | 32 | An ANC member and chairperson of the Tokoza civic association who was injured when he was shot in the leg in Tokoza, Transvaal, in 1993. The perpetrators were members of the ISU allegedly accompanied by the leader of the Khumalo gang. Mr Mhlambi was also detained under emergency regulations in 1985 and subsequently spent three years in detention at Modderbee prison in Benoni, Transvaal, where he was assaulted by members of the SAP. Mr Mhlambi was finally released after he and other detainees went on a hunger strike for twenty eight days. One ANCYL/SAYCO member was granted amnesty. Although convicted, two others denied involvement in the killing and were refused amnesty (AC/1997/0002, AC/1997/00/03 and AC/97/0005). | References | MHLANA, Msikeleli Cornelius | 23 | An ANCYL supporter who was shot and injured in Tokoza, Transvaal, on 7 June 1991, allegedly by ISU members, during ongoing political conflict in the area. | References | MHLANGA, Amos Happy | 21 | Was shot in the left knee by IFP-aligned Black Cats outside shops in Wesselton, Ermelo, Transvaal, on 28 August 1991, in retaliation for the earlier killing of the gang`s leader. | References | MHLANGA, Andries Velaphi | 25 | An ANC supporter who was shot dead when the vehicle in which he and nine other young men were travelling was ambushed at Diepdale, near Ermelo, Transvaal, on 30 September 1993. The youths were returning from a court appearance in connection with the killing of a local chief when they were attacked, allegedly by the chief`s son and other IFP supporters. Four of the ten were killed and three others injured. | References | MHLANGA, Bafana Johannes 'Jwi' | 41 | He was killed by members of an ANC self-defence unit (SDU) in Ermelo, Transvaal, in July 1991, during political conflict between IFP and ANC supporters.
