Was assaulted and stabbed to death in March 1987 by a group of UDF supporters and members of the Hammarsdale Youth Congress in Clermont, near Durban, who suspected him of being a police informer and causing divisions in the organisations. Two UDF supporters were granted amnesty (AC/2001/106).
