She lost her home in an attack by supporters of Chief Mahlangu in Dindela, KwaDlaulale, KwaNdebele, during July 1975. Chief Mahlangu supported the incorporation of Goederede village into Lebowa but many residents resisted, which resulted in violent conflict.
