Was hacked with axes and pangas by hostel-dwellers in Mzimhlophe, Soweto, Johannes-burg, on 24 August 1976. Two of his brothers were killed with him when violence erupted after the State used hostel-dwellers in their brutal suppression of the Soweto uprising.
