A student activist who was detained in Langa, Cape Town, on 27 January 1977 and was beaten and tortured by named members of the SAP at Caledon Square police station. He was held in solitary confinement at Pollsmoor prison until May when he was charged, found guilty of arson and sentenced to a three-year jail term.
