Description
An APLA member from Bizana, Transkei, who was shot dead by Basotho paramilitary force members in March 1985 at Qacha’s Nek, Lesotho, close to the Lesotho-Transkei border. Five other APLA members died in this incident, which occurred at a time of increased LLA activity in the area aimed at destabilising the pro-ANC government of Chief Leabua Jonathan. The Basotho security forces claimed they had mistaken the APLA unit for LLA members. APLA and the LLA were closely connected at the time.
