An ANC member who lost her home in KTC, Cape Town, on 9 June 1986, during the attacks by Witdoeke vigilantes. Ms. Tyhulu was detained under section 29 on 6 February 1989 and severely beaten and tortured during interrogation by named police officers at Wynberg police station, Cape Town, after she had assisted an MK operative to escape from custody. She was later sentenced to eighteen months’ imprisonment.
