See self defence units (SDU) | References | ZWENI, Lebuti | 18 | An ANC supporter who was shot dead by a named member of the Ciskei Police during protests in Ekuphumleni, Ciskei, on 21 August 1985. | References | ZWENI, Louis | | Was shot dead in Tokoza, Transvaal, on 22 May 1993 by a group of armed attackers, allegedly IFP supporters, who came into his shop and fired at random, seriously injuring his sister and young cousin. Earlier that day nine people were killed and sixty nine injured in clashes between ANC supporters, IFP supporters and police. The violence erupted after a group of unidentified gunmen fired at Tokoza hostel during a march organised by the ANC to present a petition at the Alberton police station. | References | ZWENI, Mpantesa William | 45 | His home was lost in an arson attack by Witdoeke vigilantes in KTC, Cape Town, on 9 June 1986, during the mass destruction of UDF-supporting squatter camps by the vigilantes, acting with the tacit approval and aid of the security forces. Seven TDF soldiers were killed and some thirty three wounded. Four of the coup conspirators were granted amnesty. Six Vlakplaas operatives were granted amnesty for providing arms for the attempted coup.
