Sofasonke Party

Explanation
an anti-ANC group backed by Lebowa President Nelson Ramodike. In 1989 Sofasonke members attacked residents of villages around Bushbuckridge, Lebowa, whom they believed to be opposed to the Lebowa government.

Was shot in the leg by named members of the Sofasonke Party in Phelindaba, Tzaneen, Transvaal, on 4 June 1991. Ms Chiloane’s aunt was shot dead and several others were injured in the attack. The Sofasonke Party targeted residents opposed to the Lebowa government.
