After the release of Nelson Mandela the ANC Youth League of Gobozani in the Ciskei began to supersede traditional chiefs who were seen as part of the past regime. Gqozo’s ADM supported the tribal system. // They wanted the chief and we didn’t and that’s what led to the conflict.
