The seven are still serving prison sentences in the Mdantsane Prison in East London. They explained why they killed her and apologized to her family. // Because we did not know who ADM would kill next. We then acted in self defence against ADM. We can’t go on. The action we then took was to act against Ms Mphambani by killing her. // I feel very disturbed because as much as she was my family it was necessary for me to take part in our actions because I was already involved and it was difficult for me to turn back. // I ask for forgiveness because when we killed her our intention was not to leave them without a mother because I know that for them not having a mother anymore they will not forget that in their lifetime. But we should reconcile because at that time we were young people who wanted change quickly.
