Her home in Kwelerha, near East London, was stoned and set alight by UDF supporters on 27 March 1986, because she was associated with the Kwelerha tribal authority which supported forced removals. Her three children were injured in the attack, but managed to escape. Another person who was with them was thrown into the burning house and was killed.
