An employee at Nedbank in Caledon Street, Uitenhage, Cape, suffered severe trauma when she was taken hostage and used as a human shield by APLA operatives during a foiled bank robbery on 4 January 1994. Two perpetrators were granted amnesty for the armed robbery and kidnapping (AC/2000/125). See APLA attacks.
