Was killed in a petrol bomb attack on his home by named Inkatha supporters in KwaMakhutha, Amanzimtoti, near Durban, on 19 January 1990. The attackers suspected the Bhengu family of being sympathetic to the UDF. Siphelele’s mother and sister also died in the attack; his father was shot and injured.
