An ANC supporter who was left disabled after being shot and stabbed by IFP supporters near Empangeni, Natal, on 10 May 1994, the day of Nelson Mandela’s inauguration as President. The perpetrators stopped their car to attack Mr Biyela, apparently in a case of mistaken identity.
