Was killed on 17 June 1985 by members of the UDF-supporting Addo Youth Congress in an attack on the local white farming community. The perpetrators broke the windows of the house, destroyed eveything inside and set the De Jager's car alight. Mr De Jager's wife was also killed in the attack. Two applications for amnesty were received. One was withdrawn and the other granted (AC/1999/0264).
