Was killed when the vehicle in which she and her family and friends were travelling detonated a landmine on a game farm near Messina, Transvaal, on 15 December 1985. Four children and two women were killed, and five people injured, in what was part of an ANC landmine campaign aimed at military patrols in the rural border regions.
