Was arrested, imprisoned and torturedwith electric shocks by members of the SAP in Sharpeville, Vereeniging, Transvaal, in December 1984 during a rent boycott. Mr Diniso was one of the ‘Sharpeville 6’ whose death sentence for killing a town councillor was commuted to life imprisonment. He was subsequently released when the ANC and National Party government embarked on negotiations to bring about a new dispensation. See Vaal uprising.
