All of his possessions, including three rondavels, were destroyed in an arson attack by IFP supporters at Entenjane, KwaZulu, near Eshowe, Natal, on 21 November 1993 in continuing conflict between ANC and IFP supporters in the area. One person was killed and more than forty five homes were burnt down in the attacks under the direction of the local chief, an IFP supporter.
