Dlamini fell off the train and broke her leg when armed IFP supporters attacked commuters between Nancefield and Orlando Stations, Soweto, Johannesburg, on 17 January 1994. The attack occurred during an IFP march to Pretoria to demand recognition of the Zulu monarch.
