She had her home burnt down by IFP supporters in Mevamhlophe, KwaZulu, near Empangeni, Natal, on 9 March 1993 in continuing conflict between ANC and IFP supporters in the area. Ms Dlamini’s son, who had refused to join any political organisation, was shot dead in the attack.
