An ANC supporter who had his house and possessions burnt by a named Inkatha member in Imbali, Pietermaritzburg, in May 1987, allegedly because his family opposed the payment of fees to Inkatha. In a recruitment drive launched by Inkatha in the Edendale and Vulindlela valleys that month, Caprivi trainees were deployed to these two areas, and at least ten people died in the consequent political violence.
