Police claim he jumped from the window of the tenth floor at John Vorster Square, where he was held for twenty five days after his arrest for illegal entry into South Africa from Botswana. | References | MABELANE, Sekomane Samuel | | An active member of NUM who was hacked to death and his body thrown into the Tubatse River by named SAP members in Driekop, OFS, on 2 May 1986. Mr Mabena and eight other youth activists had been recruited by Vlakplaas askaris for supposed military training when they were killed. The house they were staying in was set alight and the nine bodies were burnt beyond recognition. The incident was sparked off by the burning of the house of an AZAPO leader for which the youths were believed to have been responsible.
