Conflict between IFP-supporting UWUSA and ANC-supporting FAWU led to intense conflict on the factory floor which spread to the surrounding community. | References | MABASO, Michael | 47 | A UDF supporter and formerly chairperson of the Klaarwater Residents` Association, was constantly harassed and threatened by members of the Security Branch in Klaarwater, near Pinetown, Natal, from 1983 to 1987, allegedly because of his active participation in community structures.
