Was shot dead by members of the SADF who then bashed his body against a rock in Alexandra, Johannesburg, on 17 February 1986 during escalating violence between security forces and residents. About twenty seven people were killed and hundreds were injured in what is known as the six-day war which ended after a partial security force withdrawal on 22 February 1986.
