She lost her house when it was burnt down by supporters of Chief Jack Mphezulu Mahlangu in Goederede, near Dennilton, Transvaal, in July 1975. Chief Mahlangu supported the incorporation of Goederede village into Lebowa but many residents resisted, which resulted in violent conflict.
