Was shot dead by a named member of the Lebowa Police in the street in Mahwelereng, Lebowa, on 7 March 1986. Police claimed that youths were stoning public transport when the policeman opened fire, killing Mr Makgae and wounding another. The perpetrator was found not guilty on charges of murder because of contradictory evidence by state witnesses.
