Was allegedly shot dead by members of the IFP-aligned Khetisi Kheswa gang at Club Lamancha in Sebokeng, Transvaal, on 22 May 1993 during a terror campaign waged in the area. Witnesses claim Mr Makhene was shot by the occupants of a white Cortina that gang members had been seen driving earlier. See Khetisi Kheswa gang.
