Was shot and severely injured when unidentified gunmen travelling in a minibus opened fire on mourners returning from the funeral of assassinated civic leader Sam Ntuli. Twenty people were killed and twenty six injured during violence following Mr Ntuli`s funeral. Mr Makhuba was partially paralysed as a result of the injuries he sustained. See Ntuli funeral.
