A UDF supporter who was arrested and beaten while in custody by members of the SAP in Siyathemba, Balfour, Transvaal, on 2 May 1986 for his political involvement and alleged participation in burning down a local store. Mr Makhubo was charged with public violence and granted R200 bail but the charges were eventually dismissed.
