and her mother were killed by ANC supporters and residents of Ga Mantlhanyane village, Nebo, Lebowa, on 11 April 1994. The victims were abducted and taken to a mountainous area where petrol was poured over them and they were set alight. Ms Maphanga`s own brother was forced to set them alight. They were accused of using witchcraft to cause the deaths of six youths. Two ANC supporters were granted amnesty (AC/2000/077).
