She lost her house and belongings when it was set alight by ANC supporters at Kabokweni, KaNgwane, in 1986. Ms Masilela was targeted by the `comrades`, allegedly under suspicion of being a witch responsible for the death of 15 people. After two attempts to burn her, the `comrades` apparently accepted that she was not a witch.
