Description Was shot and injured by members of the SAP in Ackerville, near Witbank, Transvaal, in 1986 during political conflict and a stayaway in the area. He was hospitalised for two weeks and upon his discharge was detained for four months on charges of public violence. He was found guilty, and sentenced to a five-year suspended sentence and eight strokes which were reduced to five by a doctor.
