She had her home damaged in an an arson attack in Alexandra, Johannesburg, in June 1976. Ms Mlambo believes that her house was mistakenly attacked because the house next door was occupied by a Chinese family who were the real targets. The attack took place in the aftermath of the Soweto uprising when the businesses and homes of people thought to be `collaborators` were burnt.
