Was hacked to death in Boipatong, Vanderbijlpark, Transvaal, on 17 June 1992. Forty-five people died and 27 were seriously injured when IFP-supporting residents of the KwaMadala hostel descended on the Boipatong community in what is known as the Boipatong massacre, allegedly planned and carried out with the aid of the police.
