A member of the Federation of Transvaal Women who was arrested and subjected to electric shock torture in Pretoria in 1982. As a result, she suffered a miscarriage. Due to their political involvement, the Mokgonyane family home was seen by police as a haven for `terrorists`. Ms Mokgonyane was detained again in February and September 1988.
