Was stabbed to death by IFP supporters in White City, Soweto, Johannesburg, on 8 September 1991. The perpetrators were returning to Nancefield hostel from a rally at Jabulani stadium. Between 1990 and 1992, the conflict in Soweto between hostel-dwellers and residents led to the death of 517 people and the injury of 1322.
