Was abducted and interrogated, together with another woman, by members of the ANC Youth League in Fort Beaufort, Cape, on 21 February 1993. The second woman was necklaced to death but Ms Mpangiso escaped. The attack took place during a period of conflict between the PAC and ANC in the town. One ANCYL member applied for and was granted amnesty for his role in the kidnapping (AC/1997/0022).
