Was shot dead on 26 February 1994 when unidentified persons attacked his home at Zindophe, KwaZulu, near Eshowe, Natal, in continuing political conflict between IFP and ANC supporters in the area. His son and daughter were also shot dead in the attack, and his house was burnt down.
