Was stabbed and shot to death by IFP-supporting hostel-dwellers on 15 August 1990 in Katlehong, Tvl. Hostel-dwellers were allegedly coerced into IFP membership when it launched itself as a political party in 1990. As a result, conflict between township residents and hostel-dwellers increasingly overlapped political affiliation with ethnic identity.
