Description Was found in hospital after he failed to return from work in Katlehong, Transvaal, on 11 August 1990. Mr Mthembu had severe head wounds from which he died later that day. He was unable to explain how he was injured but his death took place soon after the outbreak of violent political conflict on the East Rand in August 1990. Twenty people died in the two days following Mr Mthembu`s death.
