Was beaten with sjamboks when members of the SAP disrupted a funeral on 23 August 1984 in Bophelong, Vanderbijlpark, Tvl, during the Vaal uprising. Mr Nape was shot by another group of policemen as he ran away. Mr Nape spent a month in hospital recovering from his injuries.
