Was shot and killed by members of the SAP at Ikwezi station in Soweto, Johannesburg, on 17 June 1976 during the Soweto uprising in which 575 people were killed and 2 380 people were injured in clashes with members of the SAP and the Riot Unit. Most of the protesters were youths or schoolchildren.
