Was one of four MK operatives killed in an ambush by Security Branch operatives near Piet Retief, Tvl, on 12 June 1988. See PIET RETIEF AMBUSHES. Fifteen Security Branch operatives, including the divisional commander of Eastern Transvaal and of Vlakplaas, were granted amnesty (AC/2001/273).
