Description
A SAYCO supporter who was detained on 20 February 1986 under emergency regulations in Stutterheim, Cape, and was severely beaten by named members of the SAP during his detention at King William’s Town prison. Mr Peter was accused of arson and the murder of a policeman during a consumer boycott and resistance to the Black Local Authority. He was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, was found not guilty of murder in 1988 and released in 1989.
